The Sea Lion
The Sea Lion
Canvas Size: 1000 x 1000 mm
Technique: Acrylic on canvas
Just as the wild lions, the sea lion is an intimidating animal, with an aggressive temper, they are carnivores and dangerously beautiful. They have long decorated fins that mix to their enormous poisonous spikes, and when they swim, their great “mane” moves in a dazzling ballet of stripes and colors…It’s hypnotizing, the more you see it, the more you want to look at it. The aggressiveness of their swim dissolves in the softness of their long rather deadly fins.
Iguanas
Iguanas
Canvas Size: 2600 x 1500 mm
Technique: Acrylic on canvas
The charming appearance and their great richness of details all over their skin and scales break with a crest of spikes all along their back… Balance that makes these animals an instigation, here, the iguanas get extra shades of orange, red, yellow and blue to highlight even more their gorgeous shade of green.
The Red Macaw
The Red Macaw
Canvas Size: 1300 x 1300 mm
Technique: Acrylic on canvas
It was during a trip to Bonito a town in Mato Grosso do Sul state, mid-western Brazil… The experience of feeling air from a macaw’s flapping wings above my head was enough for me to fall in love with them… To look to the sky, come across an enormous red macaw, to listen to its shriek and watch it land less than two meters away, there, free in the Nature… It was fascinating to study all of its details. It was quite impossible not to paint it.
Monarch Butterflies
Monarch Butterflies
Canvas Size: 1300 x 1300 mm
Technique: Acrylic on canvas
My admiration for them is for their beauty, but above all for their strength. In a certain time of the year, they fly by the millions ceaselessly from the US and south of Canada to a region in central Mexico. The cloud of monarch butterflies is considered one of the greatest Nature’s spectacles. How lucky of us!
Eyes of Owl
Eyes of Owl
Canvas Size: 1000 x 1000 mm
Technique: Acrylic on canvas
Owls are complete in symbology and mysticism… Everything in this bird is beautiful, their legs, ears, the small beak and great eyes… It’s necessary to be very brave to stare at an owl’s eyes fixedly. After a few seconds it is them who observe you and penetrate your soul, denude and read you, make you feel small in front of such greatness in their eyes.
